About these terms
Packmates is run by Renacer Enterprises Ltd (company number [Company number], registered office [Registered address]). Who can use Packmates
You must be 18 or over and live in the United Kingdom. You must give accurate information, verify your email address and mobile number, keep your dog details current, keep your account secure and use only your own account. Do not impersonate anyone or set up deceptive accounts.
What Packmates is and is not
Packmates is a noticeboard and messaging service that helps dog owners find each other. We do not employ, vet, check, insure or supervise anyone. Proof of woof is a basic check that a photo seems to show a dog. It does not confirm ownership, identity, safety or behaviour. Each member decides whether a person, dog and walk are suitable and stays responsible for their own safety, their dog’s control and welfare, any insurance they need, and obeying the law.
Bookings and the private arrangement
Public posts show only broad details. A walk is booked only when the organiser has approved your request and your dogs, the organiser has confirmed the private arrangement, and you have accepted it. A request, approval or chat message alone is not a booking. The booking and the walk itself are a private arrangement between members. We are not a party to it and are not responsible for what members do or fail to do.
Asking to join again
A member may request the same walk twice. If the organiser declines both requests, the request is closed and you cannot ask for that walk again. A moderator may review the pattern.
Content and conduct
You keep ownership of what you post. You give us permission to store, resize and show it to the people you chose so that Packmates works, and you must have the right to share it, including any people or animals in it. Do not harass, threaten, discriminate against, deceive or spam anyone, share private meeting details publicly, evade a block, abuse animals, break the law, copy or scrape the service, or interfere with how it works.
Moderation
Members can report content and block others. We may review reports and the content around them, and reports may be reviewed by a human moderator. We may remove or hide content, limit what an account can do, or suspend or close it, especially for serious or repeated breaches or to protect someone. Where it is reasonable we will tell you why and consider your reply. We may share information with the authorities when the law allows or requires it. We do not promise to watch every interaction.
Beta service
Packmates is in public beta. Features may change, pause or be removed, and the service may be interrupted. During the beta it is provided as it is, without promises that it will always be available or free from faults. Notifications are best effort, so check the walk in the app for the latest details. We will not reset or wipe member data as part of beta work without giving notice first.
Our responsibility to you
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, and it does not affect your legal rights as a consumer. [Final liability wording, to be confirmed by a solicitor before launch.]
Ending your use
You can stop using Packmates at any time and request account deletion from Profile. Deletion happens after a 7-day grace period, and the privacy policy explains what is deleted and what is kept. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts people or the service at risk.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms, for example as the beta develops. We will tell you about material changes in the app before they take effect. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales [Governing law and courts, pending legal review].
